Tournaments & organised games

All of these will be played in a very much 'fun' atmosphere where enjoyment should be as important as winning.

Munchkin - A game of Munchkin, open for as many people that would like to play, using as many of the sets as we can get our hands on. We will have a little trophy for the winner that they get to defend next year.

Zombies psychocon special - A game of zombies open to as many players as would like to play using some unique tiles for the event and a few new rules specifically for the event. This will and should be played until late.

Silly drive - Our usual collection of simple yet great fun games, such as Loopin Louie, that can be played throughout the day. There wil be some prizes for the winner.

Diplomacy - Our yearly diplomacy tournament.

Acquire - With a new version out we will be running a small tournament for would be stock brokers.

Ticket to ride - Now widely regarded as a classic, we will be running a tournament based around the original version of the game.

Formula De - Can anyone rest the championship from returning champion Nigel Scarfe? (I'm sure they can - the webmaster)  Very popular last year we will be running this again on Sunday.

Settlers of Catan - We are hoping to run a Settlers tournament in which the finalists can play on the limited edition 3D version of the game.

UFS invitational - A CCG based around the many console fighting games, this small scale event will use a unique variant of the rules and, as all our games, be played in a fun spirit with some great promo prizes to be won. 

It's been a little while coming but we finally have some solid information for the UFS event at Psychocon. Here it is:

The event format will be Highlander (one of each card), and all cards should be legal for standard (rotation) format.

The prizes will include two incremental sets of UFS (containing at least one of each card for a particular set) and tournament-only promos.

Properties in UFS include Street Fighter, Soul Calibur III, Penny Arcade, Darkstalkers, The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown and Shadowar.

We will need people to pre-register for this event due to limited space.

Demonstrations

We are hoping to have games designer Jackson Pope return to Psychocon to demonstrate and sell some of his games. His appearance a couple of years ago went down very well and, with new games under his belt, will surely prove as popular this year.

Traders

Patriot Games will be acting as our on-site trader again this year. You will be able to get copies of all your favourite games from them.

Other points

We will be running a competition to find a new name for the convention. We will be taking submissions throughout the registration time and during the event itself. The winning entry will be announced at the end of this years event.
